Hello everyone, and welcome to the Survival Prep Shop.
My name is TK and it’s my pleasure to welcome you to our shared exploration of preparedness and resilience group.
As we delve into today’s topic, please bear in mind that these words are a blend of my own thoughts and life lessons. When a pandemic breaks out, it’s crucial to be prepared with essential protective gear, considering the difficulty of acquiring these items during an emergency.
Depending on the nature of the illness, especially airborne viruses or highly infectious diseases like Ebola, having the right equipment is non-negotiable. Below are some key items you’ll need to protect yourself and your family:
- Eye Protection: Since the eyes are vulnerable to infection through contact, it’s advisable to have goggles if your masks do not provide eye protection. Always wash your hands before touching your eyes.
- Gloves: To avoid direct contact with infected surfaces or individuals, stock up on non-latex gloves to cater to different family members and prevent potential latex allergies.
- N95 Masks: These masks cover your mouth and nose and are designed to filter out airborne particles effectively. Ensure you have a sufficient supply of these masks in various sizes to accommodate all family members.
- Biohazard Suits: Though pricey, biohazard suits offer complete protection when venturing into highly contaminated areas. These suits are essential and should fit properly; be sure to check and update your inventory annually.
- Booties: Disposable shoe covers, or booties, are vital for preventing disease transmission via the soles of your shoes. Stock up on these as they are generally one size fits all.
As this conversation comes to an end, I hope to have given you more to ponder on your preparedness journey. Your readership is much appreciated, and I can’t wait to share more with you soon. Thanks again.
